Backstory on this:
I got this amp as a complete combo. When it came in, I noticed some 'farting' on the last 4 notes of my b-string. I worked with the guy here on talkbass, who generously supplied me with a replacement speaker. Problem persisted however, until I realized that it was in fact the passive radiator on the very bottom of the cab that was blown out.
Contacted Mesa, who explained that they do NOT sell replacements for the passive radiator. I managed to dampen down the 'fart' sound by stuffing some foam in there, but it was still present with a 5-string. So, I abandoned the cab, cannibalized the speaker for another combo of mine, so what I have is basically a solidly-built shell for someone else to tinker with. I imagine if you cut the passive radiator out, or got even more crazy with some foam dampening, it could be made into something.
