If your wife is receiving white boxes on her phone, it may be because she does not have a data plan with her phone. This year, I have noticed when someone sends me a group text or picture from a smart phone, my traditional phone gives me blank boxes. Verizon told me that group texts are automatically changed to data now. I am holding out because data plans costs an additional $30/ phone. I used to receive group texts and pictures with no problems.
