Edit - this had sold, but the buyer noticed some issues that he determined may have been a problem in shipping. No box damage, but he noted the following (all addressed)
1) The bottom end strap button had been pressed in a bit. The bass could have been put down hard. It was still usable, but when it was returned, we carefully pulled the surface flush. Future shipping will have a bubble donut cushioning around the end to avoid this.
2) The volume and tone pots installed are rather linear. This is very useful on a loud stage. In a quiet room setting, you don’t notice much taper and they can tend to seem all the way on or very slight. This was not something that happened in shipping. According to Jim Normandy, he didn’t see a problem with them, but said they were more practical for use in a live setting. Of course, they can be changed for preference. (See below...swapped out for some CTS pots)
3) There was also a concern questions about apparent gaps. This bass is not made like others. It has a patinated copper plate over aircraft aluminum body frame. It is solid. The neck is held in place by the interior frame. The <1mm gap in the copper plating around the neck joint has nothing to do with the structure. (See new pics)
4) The string alignment is not perfect. You can see the strings towards the G side. They don’t line up perfectly with the neck pickup magnets. All that said...zero issue with playability or sound. (See pic from nut to bridge).
