One of two basses remaining from the estate of the late bassist, Herb Mickman.

This NS Design CR4 Omni is an electric bass player's choice for compatibility (same 34" string length as an electric bass), top-shelf sound (both piezo and magnetic pickups under each string), and craftsmanship (rock maple construction, built in Czech Republic).

This instrument is flawless: no road wear, no repairs, no issues.

Comes with standard tripod stand and new gig bag.

That looks more like a full blown (pre Omni ) CR4M to me. I’ve got the same in a 5.

Edit. I am wrong, about the Omni part. Still a great instrument!

Never having played or owned one, and lacking any definitive ID on the bass itself, I compared it with pix of of other NS types and came up with Omni.

One salient difference seems to be the string length: the CR4M stretches out to 41.5" - like the conventional upright bass - while the Omni is the typical length of a slab played horizontally - 34".

If you know of other aspects that peg this one as a CR4M, please advise; I wouldn't want to advertise it incorrectly.

This is the second-to-last bass of many (mostly uprights) being disposed of by the administrator of the estate.
(The remaining one is also an NS Design, but it was discovered without its tripod stand or cover. It could be an early WAV - there are no pickups mounted where yours are, so there must be a pickup built into the bridge. There are two control knobs on the bass side, and the letters "NXT" stamped on the back.
Any idea what model this one could be? Thanks again.)

That would be an NXT. The stamp on the back of the head of the NS basses is the model.

This thread should be marked as closed/sold. The CR4M designation for this omni is correct. The "M" designates it as having magnetic pickups. CR is for Czech Republic and the 4 is for the number of strings. Omni = bass guitar scale length.
