This bass has been completely gone through and set up correctly with new strings, low action, no fret buzz, or sprout, and only weighs 8.5lbs.
This is the best review/tech, spec sheet I could find. It gives you a really good understanding of the build quality of these instruments.
Sadowsky MetroExpress Hybrid PJ review
Here are the upgrades I have put into it.
Sadowsky VTC pre-amp - If you had to do one upgrade to this bass is would be to add this pre-amp. The active variable tone knob really makes this pre-amp shine.
Sadowsky Onboard Bass Preamp 4-knob Active System with VTC
Bartolini B-Axis P/J pickups. These pickups aren't actually yet available as a 5 string set, but I had Bartolini custom match a P and J pickup for me. These are full, clear and can get really growly if you want them to. An amazing upgrade to the originals. Here are links to the specs for these pickups.
