I took this in on a trade a couple weeks ago. I have been looking for a good quality Ric copy for a long time now and this one fit the bill perfectly. However as things always seem to happen I have a car repair bill that takes priority.

This bass plays really nice and the action is much better than I expected. Truss rod is fully functional and there are no issues that I have found or am aware of. The nut is ever so slightly wider than 1 1/2" and the neck contour is very comfortable. It can achieve a decent Ricish sound as well. I do have the original bridge pickup cover, it is the rectangular one, not the Fender shaped one. Its just not on the bass when I took photos.

After looking at the last couple Rockinbetters that have come up for sale here I think that $525 shipped is more than fair. PayPal is ok. No gig bag or case however the bass will be packed very securely. Lower 48 only. If you are local I'll happily knock off the shipping cost.

When I got the bass it did not have a truss rod cover. I got in touch with the UK Tokai rep and they have them available for sale for 25 pounds plus shipping. I made one out of a scrap piece of plexi for under $2 and it looks decent enough though there is no lettering on it.

How about $350 plus shipping? Any interest?

Not at this time but I'll entertain any reasonable offers. Found out the bill on the car today, less than expected but will be done sooner than expected.

I forgot to mention in my original post, this is a neck through bass, NOT a bolt on like other Ric copies.

There are no finish blemishes, no dents, no dings, binding is all there, clear coat is intact over the entire bass. No fret wear, it has hardly been played.

Rare bird !
Do you have any idea of the production year ?

And could you post images of the back of the neck please ?

There are no markings on the bass at all. However, when I was emailing the UK Tokai rep about the truss rod cover I sent him a pic of the bass. He confirmed that it is in fact a Tokai and it is about 3-4 years old. They made a limited number of purple ones. No idea how it got here to the US.

Two shots of the back

Definitely looks like a Rockinbetter to me!

Never seen one before in purple before. The white one they do at the moment looks really nice.

Ben:
I'm right on the Plano/Allen border just off 75. If you are interested I'll make you a smokin deal on this bass. I gotta pay the car bill on Friday

To clarify, this is not a bolt on neck. I am willing to ship within the confines of the lower 48 U.S. states. I am not willing to consider shipping other than that.

In a mad dash to move this, how about $350 plus shipping?
