2003 Yamaha BB405 5 string Passive Bass. 34” scale. Area J pickups. CTS pots with PIO cap. Alder body, Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard. Frets are in great condition, truss rod works both directions. Bass is solid. There’s some buckle rash on back and some light character marks on the front behind the bridge and around the volume/ tone knobs. Hard to capture in pics with the natural satin finish.
Weighs 8 lbs, 6 ounces. (See pic of the scale)
It’s currently Setup with Dunlop Super Bright Nickels w/medium low action. Plays great.

This was the 5-string model I learned on and was/is a really great bass for the money! It’s only real weakness was the stock electronics, and it looks like you took care of that with your mods. GLWTS!

Yes, I didn’t care for the Stock electronics so I had all that changed out. Played it at church a few times because I thought I needed the low B string. I keep going back to my 4 string P bass. If this Yamaha was a 4 string, I’d be keeping it for sure!

I played the active version of this bass (BB605) for years. Really great bass - especially when I put Bartolini electronics in it.
