Here is Yamaha's take on the jazz bass. This bass was made in Japan in the late 70s.
Specs:
The neck is all one piece of wood (no separate fretboard). It is a thick, chunky Precision-style neck profile, so if you like thin tapered jazz necks it may not be your cup of tea. Frets were polished and leveled in 2018 by Guitar Technical Services here in Tulsa; they still have plenty of life left.
About the bridge, as you can see from the photo it's lifting up from the body a bit. I guess Yamaha just hadn't quite got their alloy right at the time. It is still fully adjustable though.
The pickups are the best part of this bass. They sound incredible. When people buy vintage jazz basses this is the sounds they're looking for.
All in all this is a great little player-grade vintage bass. It does have some issues like most old basses, but for the price it's a great value.
