Since Dan decided not to build any more customs, this one's a bit of TB history because it is apparently his last custom. I don't know what strings he put on it, but they seem to be medium guage, sound good and still have some zing left. The Nordstrand NJ4 single coils sound great with the passive V/V/T setup. The tuners are ultralite Hipshots. The nut is synthetic bone. The fretboard is nice and dark with a bit of streaking - pretty. The pics below are Dan's and are a little washed-out as they don't show any of the body grain. Whoever applied the transparent white over the ash body did a fine job. The clear coat on the body is poly with nitro on the neck. The neck is .8" front to back @ the first fret (USACG's thinnest) and is quite comfy (rolled fretboard edges = good!). It is also graphite reinforced. The only 'mod' I've done was to de-stickify the back of the neck with a 3M green scour pad and a coat of carnuba wax. Visually, you can't tell that anything was done, but it feels great. The fretboard radius is 9.5" and is equipped with Dunlop 6105 (.090" x .055") frets. Dunlop strap lock buttons are installed and the total weight is 8.96 pounds. The adjustment wrench for the chrome/brass Hipshot bridge is included. One thing that is not included is a noticeable 'dead spot' (resonance) typically found on the G string of the standard Fender design. Hmmm... beautiful, easy to play, great tone - what's not to like? It has one too few strings and doesn't say "Dingwall" on the headstock. :) Seriously, I'm selling off four strings to focus on fivers. Comes with a like-new Gator gig bag and free insured FedEx shipping in the CONUS.
No trades, please. $795, PayPal preferred.

Bump for 1966 lollipop-inspired tuners. Always wondered why more people don't use these. What a wonderful change of pace from the usual clover leaf shape.

Thank you, gentlemen. I'm sure Dan never tires of hearing his work praised... ;)

Enjoy that nice P/J 57pbass!

When I removed the strings the night before last to verify the pickup type (single, not split coil), I got a better look at how nicely this fretboard is figured. I should post more tantalizing pics... :D Still available - the almost new owner was forced by Sandy to buy a new generator instead!

I'm still patiently waiting for the new owner to step up and claim his bargain-priced killer Jay. Meanwhile, thanks for letting me enjoy playing it for a few more days! :)

Not quite in focus, but this shows some of the color and figuring:
