Fender Rumble 350

Hello group,

Anyone try this Fender Rumble 350. I am looking for a combo amp. I play rock, hard rock, funk.

I am looking to spend around 500.

Can someone recommend something similar to look at?

I normally use a SVT and would like a similar sound in a combo if possible.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated,

I can honestly say that I love good tone, so I hate the Fender Rumble series at any wattage. (I just can't seem to dial them in no matter how hard I try or how long I take.)

On the other hand, I do happen to think that Acoustic makes a very nice combo. Especially if you're looking for something more like the Ampeg tone. It's not going to sound like an Ampeg, because nothing really does, but the 6 band EQ makes for some great tone dialing, IMO. For $500'ish, check this out:

+ 1 for the above post. If you're looking for the Ampeg tone, the only thing that is going to do that is Ampeg. But he is right about Acoustic, their combos can effectively reproduce a "tubeish" growl with the gain and low-mids turned up. The B200 (1x15) combo by Acoustic is ridiculously loud for a combo amp, has a decent tone, and you can find them for like $350 new... that is, if you don't mind a single 15 vs. two 10s.

I would steer clear of the Fender Rumble series. They can get loud, but the low end is quite lacking.

Find a vintage Ampeg VT-22 combo with original speakers. It's basically an Ampeg V4 in combo form....similar tone to SVT but with less power and headroom. Shouldn't cost much more than $500.

I have a Rumble 350 and concur that it's next to impossible to dial in a good sound. Lacks warmth and punch. It has low-end but tens to be muddy. On the other hand you can get an aggressive rock sound out of it. The better Fender is the Bassman TV, though you can't get a lot of volume out of those. I plan to take a serious look at he Acoustic combos.
