HELLLP! I need to know what cab this is...

I bought this cab from GC used, for REALLLY cheap... its an awesome cab, and the backplate says its a GK... model 412... nothing else.. single input, 4 ohms...

anyone got any idea what cabinet it is? Anyone got some info on it?

It's a Gallien-Krueger 4-ohm 412.

Seriously though. It'll be quite an old model, they haven't looked like that in a really long time. If it turns out to be a GMT, you got a real gem.

Might be able to pin it down closer by getting pics/numbers off the back of the speakers. Might get that by taking off a handle or jackplate or something and looking in there, sticking a camera in there if you don't want to take it all apart from the front.

I almost bought one of those Kustom Deepends here to use as a spare amp. They're pretty new, SS amp in a tube amp headcase, but looks like it belongs up there.

Your wood floors and old style doors look exactly like the house I just moved out of.....and my coffee table came up missing....

yeah it looks perfect up there and with that cab, its pure bad ass... rattles my bones at 12 o clock... I'll look into the speakers.... serial on the cab is...73050675

That's your work? That's a great bass man. You got all your strings at the right break angle over the nut don't you.

luckily... had to extend the bridge out to its limits because when I built it I didn't have a straightedge.... cut out with a coping saw and hand sanded to what you seee.... lol...

With the serial # and any numbers off the speakers, a call to GK might be in order. Whoever answers the phone, get their boss, and then get their boss. Find somebody who's been there forever and they might know. Some of the older folks here might know as well. Bob Gallien is user " rag ". Maybe he'll notice and chime in.....long shot there but that's a classic piece. Something you definitely don't see every day.

Looks like there was a badge or something on the lower right corner of the grillcloth that's missing. Or it could be the upper left and somebody put the grill back on upside-down over the years.

true I've noticed that... I'll try to look further into it.. I plan on recovering it with some new tolex and black hardware but I want to make sure before I screw up something golden..

Well, google searches are fruitless. Stuff like Gallien Krueger, speaker, 412, speaker, etc. are way too broad of terms and GMT just gets pictures of clocks.

Before you mess with it, I'd get in contact with GK, on the phone, not emails, and maybe change your thread title here to something like "anybody recognize this classic GK cab" or something like that. Maybe get more eyeballs.
