NAD - Ampeg Micro VR

congratulations fellow micro vr owner! i got one for christmas, and it rules hard! but unlike you, i only have one speaker (not complaining in the least, though...that one speaker kicks it), and also unlike you, my original thought was it would be a nice little backup rig...until i gigged it. and now i'm hard pressed to want to bring the big stuff anymore. it sounds so much like a mini-svt that i'm blown away every time i use it. thinking really hard about that extension cab, though...i'd love to do a 410 vertical stack with my svt.

Thanks all!

When I used the whole Micro rig at practice, I did have them stacked vertically and loved it:hyper:

They will get their first "gig" work out next week and I will report back in...so far, very impressed...

I really like having the second cab, but it is by know means "required"

And honestly, for as silly as it looks, the Micro-VR and 810 sound really good :bassist:

i'm loving the 210 cab. Sounds great by itself, with my aggie 1x12 it gets LOUD.

running it through a shuttle though :

So far it's taken everything the shuttle 6.0 has thrown at it fine (have only pushed it once at practice w/ the 1x12, 300 watts). The B string surprisingly sounds okay through it. Only thing I don't like is the tolex? or w/e covered the cab is rather easy to scratch and tear, already have a few dings, but who cares? theres people out there intentionally ruining basses for the look ;)

Funniest thing I've read on Talk Bass in a while. :D:D:D

I got my 210AV cab yesterday, and running it with my LMII is really great sounding. I am expecting another 210 today. Very, very close to the Ampeg sound you get from the SVT 410 or 810, and can be carried in one hand.

I believe the LMII is same size as my shuttle roughly... what are you doing about letting the head sit on top of the cab ? (the handle makes it tough).

Yes, the handle is trouble. I push the handle down, and lay a heavy hand towel over the top of the cab. The LMII is vented out the back; not sure if this will work with your GB head.

If and when I need to stack the two cabs, I will set the LMII on a stand, or on the floor. I'm uncomfortable putting the head 5 feet off the ground. :)
