Made a strap button extension for the upper horn of the Warlock out of ebony. The block doesn't actually hold the strap button, a 3/16" X 4" lag screw does the work, passing through the middle of the horn but physically a little more than an inch higher up the neck. I did something similar on my Thunderbird because of neck dive. Basically the head of the lag screw will pass into the strap log tight so I grind the top a little to smooth it, center punch in the middle and then drill the same size hole in the top as the strap lock pin. Works a charm. I just barely knock the corners off the hex so I can still screw it in - pilot drilling first of course. Don't really need much thread strength with that much length AND a drop of wood glue on the threads. :)

The ebony block has one thin, countersunk screw holding it to side of the horn, along with a continuous bead of clear silicone.

Hangs nice, no more Mr.Dive.
