Some easy Megadeth songs?

Hey

So I was trying to play some Megadeth songs on bass, and well, Symphony of Destruction was the only reasonable/easy one I could find. Anything from Rust In Peace is totally out of the equation for now, so could you guys recommend some easy 'deth songs I could start out with? Thanks!

And Ellefson is one tight player.

I've only been playing 3 months, which I forgot to mention. Tornado of Souls is pretty tough D: . Yes, I forgot to mention Dawn Patrol. That is easy?

Any other songs? I'm also open to LoMenzo's stuff (United Abominations/Endgame). He's really good too.

Yea, I would definitely start with dawn patrol.

I remember learning the better part of peace sells fairly early on, so the worst you can do is try...

And just for the record, lots of Ellefson's lines are played by Marty Friedman... it's kind of like Roger Waters in Pink Floyd...

The bass intro (cool part) to Peace Sells really ain't that tough, just start really slow. The trickiest part I've found is the little 7th fret to 8th fret whoopdiwhoo on the D string, and I found the easiest way to do it (I used 1 finger per fret) is to do it as a little slide, only plucking the first note on the 7th fret and sliding up to the 8th fret. Also I find its much easier if you actually do use you pinky to fret this to, so then after you do the slide, your ring finger is right there ready to play the next note on the 7th fret, A string.

Also, learning this as a beginner will make you feel 10x more badass and is a good one to use to show off to people.

That dang "whoopdiwhoo" is the only thing that stops me from playing this song cleanly. I pretty much figured out the same trick, but it's still tough to get that little part right.

Megadeth is jazz metal. It's a lot to bite off and chew for a beginner. If you want to play these songs, I suggest simplifying the lines, concentrate on hitting the one, chugging on the root & gradually add embellishments as you improve.

As far as bass goes......the So Far, So Good, So What album is pretty simple.

Now that I think about it, the Peace Sells album is pretty simple as far as bass goes as well.

I can't comment on more than that because I stopped listening to them after SF, SG, SW.
