Does anyone know how the infraction "point" system works? I received an infraction a few days ago for posting pics with inappropriate language, which was worth 3 points.

Now, let me be clear that I'm not disputing that I posted the pictures or claiming that I didn't deserve the infraction. I'm only trying to figure out the point system. I E-mailed the mod who gave me the infraction, apologized for my transgression, and asked for an explanation of just exactly what "3 points" means. The mod hasn't responded to my query.

Really, I just want to know what the rules are: How many points add up to being banned? Do different point totals mean different length bans? Do infraction points expire?

If anybody knows about this, I'd appreciate an answer. I've been through the FAQs and I can't find anything either.

Thanks!

No, no, no! The pics I posted were of Wikipedia in the minutes following the announcement of Anna Nicole Smith's death -- Let's just say people have no respect for the dead! (Of course, that assumes that all dead people deserve respect...)

Don't you dare touch that shot of my as a hot Korean chick. At least, not before my wife gets a chance to see it! :p :D

Here's how it works:

If you do things that violate the rules (spam, being disrespectful, bad language, commercial user violation) you get points. The amount of points you get vary by what you did. These points expire after a certain number of days, which also varies depending on what you did.

If at any time you have six active points, you're banned for a week. 10 = 2 weeks, 15 = a month, and 20 = forever.

So be good. :)

Yep.

i've been banned twice, once for 1 day and once for two weeks so i guess that means i have 16 points. When do you get a clean slate? Or do the points never disappear? I feel like I'm constantly walking on thin ice lol will thisgive me more points?
