Hey guys,

I know a lot of you are getting infrequent errors when using our new iPhone and Android apps. I can see the database error reports via server log files and I know these errors are coming up about 5 times an hour, but it's not telling me enough to get to the bottom of the problem.

If you experience an app crash, or an error message, please post:

- The error message that you get (please be as exact as possible)
- The activity that you were attempting to perform when you got the error or crash
- Your phone type

My app stopped working, but I also got the following msg when trying to login from my phone, which I assume is the root of the issue:

"We're sorry, TalkBAss.com does not serve those browsing from web-based proxies, open proxies, TOR, VPN servers, or hosting networks..."

I never had this problem before yesterday.

There appears to be an issue with the latest update. Almost every time I start the app I get a crash report. The app does continue to open and work, but I get a crash almost every time at startup.

I am using a Samsung Captivate running Android 2.1.

Also, the signature is not working. It hasn't worked since I started using the app 2 months ago.

Here's the latest word from our app developer:

It [crashing on startup] is on devices running 3.1.3 or below. A fix has been sent to apple for review. Sorry for the hassle. Hopefully will be approved quickly!

Unfortunately the folks at Apple have to approve every little update before it goes live. Hopefully the fix will be available soon.

If you haven't, please try reinstalling the app.

Hi, just installed the latest update for iPhone yesterday (vast improvements with this update!) but wanted to let you know that the 'currently online' status symbols don't seem to be working (the red, green, or yellow dot). All dots are red all the time on my phone.

Also, I get booted out altogether pretty frequently. No error message, app just closes unexpectedly, and I have to re-open it and start all over again finding where I left off. But this seems to only happen when I accidentally click on a user's avatar and quickly back out before their profile loads.

No problems here, but I have a suggestion.

Would it be possible for there to be an auto refresh check box so that I have to manually refresh instead of the app auto refreshing whenever backing out of a thread?

Hope that makes sense.

Here's my guess as to what's happening: Say I last visited TalkBass last night at 8pm. After that session, all forums are marked as read. This morning, when I use the iphone app to to "view the first unread" post in a thread (that I've never clicked into), it goes to the first post made AFTER 8PM last night. Because even though you didn't read the thread, all forums are automatically marked as read 15 minutes after you finish a session on TalkBass.

The only way around this is to change the setting, from automatically going to the "first unread post", to "JUMP TO FIRST PAGE" (in settings -> forum reading options).

It may be just me, I'm a noob to the site. I put the Talkbass app on my HTC Thunderbolt. Worked great the first couple days, but now I'm not getting notifications on the phone. The rest of the app appears to be fine. And to make sure I'm using it right, If I start, reply, subscribe to a thread on my PC, am I gonna get a notification on my phone?

I use my PC most of the time, but like having it on my phone. I did notice I didn't have it setup to receive email notifications on the main site, could this be the issue, I just changed it to receive "instant email notifications"

Are you wanting to get push notifications (when you get a private message or a susbscribed thread is updated, you get a notification on your phone even if the app isn't running)?

Yes, but I think it's working now. I set it up to give me email notifications. I get those on my phone, then about 5 minutes later I get the "push" notification. Guess I just figured it'd be faster lol.

I have an iPhone 3G and an iPad 2 and when I try to enter my TB app it comes up with a message that says "ERROR: CAN NOT CONNECT TO SERVER" and a bunch of other crap. It even happens when I have full 3G service! This happens to me roughly every 2 or 3 days.

Is this the place for iPad issues as well? I just updated to 1.5.2, and every time I enter a new post, this blank window pops up and takes up the whole screen. There's a back arrow in the left corner (doesn't do anything), I believe a Refresh style button, and a button in the right corner that says Done. When I click Done, it takes me back to the post I had just opened. If I nav back into the forums, it doesn't happen again...until I select a new post and the whole process starts again.
