What's your budget?

Do you prefer active or passive?

Those are the two big questions in my book.

From what I've read the CV and the VM series of basses are very similar in many if not most regards. So between those two, it basically comes down to color options.

That being said. If money wasn't an option i'd probably go with the Schecter. It seems to have more tonal possibilities than the comparably priced Jag, not to mention it looks friggin' killer.

If your on more of a budget or like to tinker or mod. I would probably find a used Squier (CV or VM.) The bang for your buck value is pretty high on those. So much so that I have both a VM P and a VM J.
