Is ibanez gsr 200 good for beginer ?

I'm looking for Ibanez gsr 200 instead of squier , whivh one is the best for beginner ?

I would recommend to buy used, maybe Yamaha BB series or TRB series. They are good instruments for the buck. Had GSR 200 for a while, didnt like it....

For a beginner I'd say yes. The Squier CV series is much better in my opinion though and they don't cost a whole lot more, especially if you find one that's used.

Im pretty happy with my gsr200.
Bought it used at GC for $89.
Got back into playing the bass after too many years.
Its neck is a bit different than my T-40 had.
Easy to play, and the P/J config will give you alot of tone options.
Have not played any of the Squires, Yammy's, or others so I cant comment on them.
Just my 2 pennies worth.

+1. As you get better, you may want something else. But a GSR 200 set up decently is a very good player. Extremely appropriate for a beginner - it allows you to work on technique without having to fight annoying idiosyncrasies. It has a very slim neck which is easier to play, especially for people switching from guitar. I owned one and gigged with it for a couple of years. No complaints.

If you prefer a modern look and sound, then yes, it's a very good choice. And with a little modding it can also become a quite reliable all around beater later on. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Turock says... go for the Squier. May as well get comfortable on a Fender style instrument; odds are, you'll be playing one some day.

Id reccomend saving up a little more and getting the Ibaznez SR300. Better bass for just a little bit more.

If you can't get one used they are great instruments for the price, new you can get much better used ibanez basses. Their feel and features/sound are very good for the price.

+1 on the sr300 ... I have a '03 sr300dx, and it is great. a bit cheap, and heavy, but for what i have into it, it's great. much better than the gsr series.

With Ibanez I wouldn't go lower than a sr300, otherwise the Squier VM & CV lines are a good option.
