Matt Freeman Squier Pbass!!! Just Got One!!!!

So as you know, i have started a couple of threads to relieve GAS. I just got a bass that blew my mind!
THE Matt Freeman Squier Pbass!
In canada, after taxes, it cost me a lil under 400 bucks. i dont care about the price cuz this plays better than ANY mexican fender bass i have ever played (even the deluxe models):hiding:.

I got it in store and it with a free gigbag (that is yet to come :hmm:). But man, it stays in TUNE and it plays so funkin unbelievable. even the stock fender strings sound good. im only playing through a Fender Rumble 15 watt. and its tone is killer. i highly recomend this. I got the off-white version with the maple fretboard, i think its THE sexiest looking beast ever.
The ONLY problem is the pickguard... since its black and im not the greatest (popper/slapper.... ive only played 1 year) i forgot to cut my fingernails. Therefore after ten minutes of slap/pop, i relized i left scratches and grooves in the pickguard. lol, just wundering, is this normal as a result of bad popping technique? thanks a bunch, really great bass!:hyper::hyper::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

Grats on the new bass, man. I've had my eye on one myself, and it would be mine by now if I could move my CV Jazz!

I haven't seen any used ones as of yet, so that has to say something for these things.

Btw, you may want to edit your sig now that you have that bad boy. :p

Since when is a good P-bass just for punk? I have played one of these, and they are incredibly nice!:bassist: I could easily see getting one of these over any number of "actual" Fenders.;)

What I mean to say is, if I was into punk and was a fan of Freeman and Rancid, I would LOVE this bass. I already dig P's. Didn't mean to say "P is for punk".

^I think that was really clever, though.

I wish they came out with these sooner. :( When I had my CV P-bass, I wanted one with a maple fretboard so badly (since I didn't want to spend the extra to replace the neck). Then this came out, which is essentially the '60s CV P-bass with a maple board and Matt's signature on the headstock. I am still waiting for them to release a CV Jazz version with a maple board. For the money, they're just under the MIM Classic series in terms of quality and all that good stuff. The basswood bodies aren't shabby either.

By the way, congrats on the bass. A very pleasant buy for anyone of any skill level and those glossy necks are just oozy-good.

yeah - unless you already peeled it off you are just scratching the clear cling-film like plastic cover - its really on there on the CVs and the MF (I found anyways - seemed harder to notice it there until you blinked at it - and then it scratched up like mad) had to pop off my knobs and tug bar to totally remove it -
