Just got my new baby home. Traded in my old sterling by MM Ray-34 for it. Let my just say, this bass is incredible. It has one of the most comfortably playing necks I have ever played. And the humbucking pickups are nice and punchy. First thing j did was throw on a set of Blue Steels, Strap locks and bridge and pickups. Just an excellent bass!

How is the overall fit and finish? Is the back of the neck satin finished?

The burst in mine is great, and the back d the neck is a really smooth and slick poly finish.

I couldn't really see the picture, but now I can make out what he did. Regardless of the inaccuracy I much prefer it as sold, without covers.

When I first got my Sunburst Jazz in '67, the ashtrays made it for about 10 days before they hit the drawer. I never put them on again.

Sorry for in inaccuracy, I ment bridge and pickup covers. And yes I realize there the Pbass covers, but I find them more comfortable

I havn't had a chance to drive the 60 miles to the nearest Fender dealer to check anything out lately.

It has the basic characteristics of the jazz tone, but yet, sounds like a humbucker. It's really difficult to describe, the pickups are really loud too. If I plug in my Pbass after playing this, I have to turn the volume up about 2 notches to get the save volume.
