Is this a scam?

Is this a scam?

YES. You don't get something for nothing; there is no free lunch; you get what you pay for; etc, etc, etc.

These guys bank on someone thinking they can get a $1700 bass for a couple of hundred dollars. Frankly I have no sympathy for anyone who gets taken in by such an obvious scam.

Yeah. That is very suspicious. Not sure why they would want you to email your phone number. Weird.

I just emailed him my number, he called me back right away...
Turns out that he is a Nigerian Prince that recently started playing bass, he is buying a new Alembic and just just wants this to one go to a good home. The only condition he had was that I send an email to 10 of my friends or family and make sure they do the same. He told me this will guarantee I will have good luck in the following business year. So it's a win win all around :hiding:

Not saying it's not a little suspicious, but when I post on Craigslist I usually only have my cell phone to take pics and I usually ask people to call instead of email just because it's quicker.

SCAM - these types of ads are appearing a lot right now in Houston. First one I saw was a vintage Fender Bassman amp and cab for $200

They have really good descriptions, but you can spot them by the way they format the email address in the ad

lots of ads say no phone number = no response

i've seen ads like that that turned out to be legit. i once got a yamaha maple custom absolute nouveau snare for $100

you have nothing to loose by emailing or calling someone. the minute it's anything other than "meet at x with y amount of cash" you know it's not real.

i've bought a LOT of stuff on craigslist. you can tell when someones a sketchball.

Scam..we have them all the time here. there was a 60's vintage strat found in a barn for like $400.00..it got flagged and $30,000 boats going for 10,000 but are being held in a storge facility out west...just use paypal
