I hate to do this to everyone.......but I'm bored.

I know the sound is totally different (GK vs Ampeg) I'm just wondering what you guys/gals think would be "the best bang for the buck" between these 2 models. Ya know, overall sound, volume, clarity...........etc. And of course what would you choose? Why?

Ampeg SVT CL
GK 2001RB

Thanx

GK 2001RB for sure. IMO, the GK's sound much louder, are clearer, and are much lighter. The Horn Management System is something I swear by, now for clarity, added punch and everything. Does everything from vintage to modern effortlessly.

Playing a ton of backline gear from both companies, I have to say the gks were always my favorites. Most ampegs were not as loud as it seemed that they should be, and the gks always seemed louder.

I now own a gk, and I sold my ampeg pre. I know these aren't the same modles, but just my feelings about the two companies.

Hard decision...:hmm:
I've the SVT-CL and the GK1001RB-II... Both great amps, both if you're talking bang for the buck, I would choose the GK. Lots of clear volume in a fairly light package...

So the GK wins it this time for me, but they're close...
