Basically I've been offered one of these in a trade since I'm not using the Iamp much I'm just using my Mesa 400+. I tried searching and couldn't find much on the M-2000 maybe I didn't go back far enough
I'm wondering how they compare in volume?
Tone? Obviously the Mesa is going to be more Tube like but I'm wondering if it can get that sparkling hifi tone the Iamp can get, also wondering how it compares to my Mesa 400+
Known issues with the M-2000?
Wattage of the M-2000 at 8ohms?
Reliability?
Etc etc the list goes on but I'm just after some opinions since I can't find anything on the Mesa.
My cabs currently are Ashdown ABM8x10 loaded with Celestions, EA NM410, EA CXL112 x 2.
The 400+ works well with all of these, the Iamp is great with the 12's, sounds nice with the NM410 but because it's only 8ohms do have to push it a bit, never tried the Iamp with the Ashdown.
I am picking up 2 Simms-Watts 100w Tube PA heads this weekend and a 4x12 that goes with them, so I am thinking I would be better keeping the Iamp and having a more articulate hifi head but from what I hear the Simms are super clean sounding so I don't know.
My basses as it might help are as follows Rickenbacker 4003, Valenti No.3 Silver 4 String Jazz, Valenti No.11 (I Think) Green 5 String P Bass, Fender Mexi Classic 60's RI with mods strung with flats, 2x Tokai Thunderbirds with slight modifications (Main live basses as they just sound rough) and Overwater Evolution 5 string. So quite varied and I have like 20 effects so I want something that gives me alot of options.
Cheers
