Bergantino NV115 & Aguilar DB115

I was just talking with Tom Bowlus about the same thing late last week. I just thought it might be interesting to have an imaginary NV115 to accompany my NV610. I would probably be overkill in most situations, but I know I don't want a full NV215 and I really don't want to lose three 10"s and go to an NV425. Not that I am not 99.8% happy with my NV610, but sometimes I can help but wonder what it would be like to add just one 15". Probably just a mild case of G.A.S. ;)

I have asked Jim about this in the past, and he has no plans to make an NV115 or similarly sized sealed box. According to Jim, you need more internal volume (or at least he prefers more internal volume) to make a sealed box work, and a 1x15 would not be large enough.

Do you know if he will ever make a HT115 again? I've always heard very high praise for those.

I'd actually suggest an HT215, a ported tweeted cab with dolly-style transport. In 4 ohms. I liked the tone of the HT115, but found that it wasn't very loud. The 2x15 would have more output, have the same or better tone, and if you were really feeling zany you could add an 8 ohm HT112 or HT115 and have fairly balanced power handling from a mono head, along with giant big-driver tone.

I would not be interested in either of the other designs. A single 15 in a sealed box is going to be a pretty low output cab.

I've seen info. about Aguilar showing a DB115 at NAMM in Anaheim
this weekend. Don't know about horn / no horn. There's also an
ad in Bassplayer for an Aguilar DB285JC: 2-8", 1-5" w/level control,
and 300 watts; Jack Casady model.

Play on.

I recently posted about the potential for a "modular" NV215. So I would really be interested in an NV115 concept where you could have 2 and use a single cab for smaller gigs, and then stack 2 of them for larger gig needs.

But ... the question is, at least to me, is would this imaginary NV115 have a mid driver as well ? and if each one did, how would that work with two ?

great idea though, really like to see that.
