Funk 102

A couple of Jazz Funk grooves. The first is kind of mellow and the second is sweaty....

The Crusaders (From Free As The Wind)

Sweet 'N' Sour

Feel It

Bassist: Robert 'Pops' Popswell

The tracks above are only 128K. I didn't have as much storage space as I do now when I ripped that disc. I will have to redo at some point. And, here some more from Maxayn showing some of that Sly vibe that Billy Low mentioned....

Maxayn (From Bail Out For Fun!)

Moon Funk

Fun

Trying For Days (This is a remake of the original from their first release. Personally, I like the original better but that's just me...)

Bassist: Moon Funk and Trying For Days sound like keyboard bass to me. I am gonna guess that the bassist on Fun is Billy Rich.

Hey gang, I have tons o goodies on my laptop,(about 10gig of nuttin but Funk) but it's down right now. Hopefully I will have it running tommorow. That means I should start posting stuf this weekend if all goes well.

I promise to make it worthwhile!:hyper:

Here's one from the 80's that has more of a 70's feel in my opinion....

Micowave

Instant Replay

Bassist: Not sure on this one. Bootsy produced it but I think this person uses a lot more thumb than the Star Child........

EDIT: After listening to this track some more, I now feel that it was Bootsy that played the bass line.....

Man, I just moved back to Chicago after over 20 years in Va Bch. I saw the Fuzz Band and Seed Is a few years ago. They both were pretty tight. There is a Blues/Jazz/Funk band that plays at a club in downtown Norfolk Sunday nights. I can't remember the name of the group but they call the keyboard player Termite. The bass player plays a Roscoe and he also has either an 8 string or 9 string bass...and plays the hell out of it!
I had a Blues band at the Beach...The Blues People. I will look you up this summer when my son and I come back for a visit.
That would be As-1. I don't know anyone in that band but there is another band like them called Forte. Dan Quackenbush is the bassist and is also very good.
