Funk 102

ebozzz you are doing it to death! Man, "Freaky People!" I think I was in the third grade when that was out. "Freedom" was also used by Grandmaster Flash & Furoius Five on "Birthday Rap." I own the 12' version of Micowave's Instant Replay. It has handclaps instead of snare drum. Sounds more like Zapp/Roger. Also, I went to high school with Charles Sherrell daughter.

Damn good job my friend!!!!

Thanks Big Bro! I do my best. Props to DW for thinking of such a thread to begin with. It certainly has helped me recall a lot of music that I thought I would never remember again.

Freaky People was kind of hot when they bumped it in the clubs. Do you remember who played bass on it? I'm at a loss....

I remember seeing Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five along with several other Sugarhill Artists live in Miami back in the early 80s (81 possibly?). Of course they performed that track. I really wasn't into Hip-Hop then but I have to admit, it was pretty entertaining! They had a band (Maybe West Street Mob) and lots of dancers. There were so many people on the stage I almost thought that I was at a P-Funk concert....

I remember that 12" version of Instant Replay! Much better than the album version IMO. I had it also several years ago but it was lost with lots of other wax.... :rollno: :bawl:

Assuming that you have a router on your home network, I would log into the web interface and test the site from the router level. It is usually under some time of diagnostics heading in the router's features. Are you using any keyword blocking or something similar? If it times out at your router and you are not blocking, I would then contact the ISP. They may very well be blocking Zshare....

Has me wanting to hear more of the Funk with a Rock edge.....

The Isley Brothers

Hope You Feel Better Love

Bassist: Marvin Isley

I know this is a bass thang that we've got going...BUT we've got to pause for the cause and give Ernie sum credit for that solo! Ernie, Eddie Hazel, Michael Hampton...3 guitarist from that era that could make me cry from listening to them play. No Joke!

3 good ones for sure! I can listen to those guys anytime. Here's a little more Ernie and also one of my favorite bass lines from Marvin. He never really did a lot for me with his bass work but I do like this one....
