Double Bass Rumano Solano Basses

Rumano is an excellent builder. I'm sure there are several in your area. Have you spoken with R yet?

I own one and absolutley love it. That being said he does have some quality control issues. I've seen basses with poorly fitted bridges and sound posts. All of which can be fixed, but it would be nice if he got them right the first time. My bass didn't have any of these problems, but some do. I think it depends a lot on how much he rushes himself to meet deadlines.

Yeah, Solano originally put a carbon fiber tailpiece on because he thought the lighter tailpiece would help break it in. He said he would put a carved on one later, but I think the pecanic one complements the fingerboard so well I just went with that. The pecanic one made the bass sound so much better too.
