Titan V12 owners!

I've been noticing an influx of owners in threads around here. We need some place to come and talk about our behemoth of a head.

I've never been so satisfied with a head. It's astonishingly easy to plug in and get a great sound. The EQ is a lot more forgiving and intuitive than the old fender eq stack on the bass 400+.

What EQ settings are you guys using with what basses? Do you keep it most clean or wooly?

And finally, what cabs are you guys using with it? I am currently using a 212 at 8 ohms and it's still a ton of sound, but I can't wait for my Vintage Powerhouse 810. SOON ENOUGH.

This could be construed as a "club" but I don't dig the numbers or anything... I mostly just want a single place we can come and worshi--I mean appreciate our head!

Hey, Visirale. We're having the family vacation at Disney this December after Lutefisk. How far is Bass Central from the Swan and Dolphin? Reasonable cab ride? I've got to check out one of those 6 string Bongo's...I think it would sound monsterous through a Titan!

Consider me subscribed.

I haven't been really using the OD channels as much. I've been keeping it clean and letting my pedals do the "dirty" work. Sansamp, Fulltone Bassdrive MOSFET, and Xotic Bass BB Preamp are all providing various forms of overdrive. As far as the EQ goes,

Channel 1:
Treble: I've been keeping the treble at around noon or backed off to around 10:30 or 11:00

The Mids: The Regular Mids are backed off to around noon or 11:30
The Para Mid: has the frequency set relatively high and has it notched back to around 10:00
The Bass: Is slightly boosted to around 1:30
The Gain I have up to around 12:30 or 1:00.
Channel Volume is around noon:
Master volume is around 9:00pm

Channel 2:
Relatively the same, except the para mids aren't notched and the treble is up to around 1:00.

Side Note:
I'm having a battle for Hybrid Supremacy with the Titan V12 and the DB750.

When I come upon some more cash, I want to get a Powerhouse 8x10 or 6x10. As of now, I'm using an Aggie S810 so the DB750 is actually getting more playing time. I think I have OCD because I like matching amp brands with cab brands. :hmm:

Titan V12 into Carvin 4x10 (800 watts @ 8 ohms), with either 81 BC Rich Eagle Deluxe (2 Dimarzio P's) or 07 BC Rich Mockingbird Supreme (2 Dimarzio P's).

Channel 1: Gain @ ~3 O'clock, Bass 3 O'clock, Passive Mid 1 O'clock, Active Mid ~+5, Frequency Halfway between 1.2k & 2k,treble ~10 O'clock (rolled back). Haven't used Ch. 2 yet, my foot switch and dust jacket are in the mail, (store couldn't find them when I bought it) so I haven't set it up, same with solo.

First off, I LOVE my DB, it's a great amp, but I haven't been able to get the tone of that Titan out of my head. I drove three hours to the Hollywood store almost a year ago to test it out and I was floored. As much as I love my DB, I'm almost scared to sell it for a Titan. For anyone out there who made this switch, please chime in. Thanks...

This is just the excuse I need to get one.. but then I'll need a 4-ohm cab setup!!

I have the BB750, which is the same preamp stage, so my settings should be applicable, at least for one channel...

Input gain: 2:00
Bass: 12:00
Treble: 12:00
Active mid freq: 2:30 (scoop out honky high-mids)
Active mid level: 8:45
Passive mid: 11:00

In other words, wooly.

Aww man, I hate to tell you, but that's a long ride! Disney is southwest of Orlando proper. I've never been to Bass Central (it didn't exist when I lived there), but I know it's northeast of Orlando. It's probably a good 20 miles one way. Any chance you'll have a car? Hell, it might be cheaper to rent one for a day than take a cab round trip.

I love the overdrive on the Titan. I have lots of great pedals too, but there is no pedal that really sounds like a great tube preamp pushed too far. That is a sound I love, and I think it is great that someone FINALLY made a bass head that will do it, and go perfectly clean, all footswitchable. For any gig that requires any dirt, or the use of a pick in any way, the Titan is IT.

I run the EQ almost flat, with the passive mid a bit behind center and the active mid boosting significantly at 200. I'm using a Maxon CP-9Pro + in front, most commonly driving it these days with a Fender Roscoe Beck 5, and pumping it into an Aguilar GS412. I've been trying it at home through Eden 10s and 12s, and that seems to sound pretty darn good too, might try gigging it that way. I'd get a big powerhouse cab, but if I come home with another cab I'm a dead man and I'm not ready to give up the others yet.

My only regret is that it has way too much power for my mesa mini-stack. I'd be afraid to use them together on the gig -- they sure do sound good together here at home. I need to swap out for an 8 ohm 2x12 if I want to get that sound on the gig.

Well, the Titan just made it to my house, but I have to wait till November to try it out when I get back from deployment....and I still have to figure out what cab I want to get. I just re-enlisted, so I had a ton of extra money laying around after I payed all of my bills off, this is what I have bought so far:

Line 6 X2 XDR95
Aguilar AGRO
dbx 160a
dbx 2031
Titan V12
Furman PM Pro II

I have my cart ready to go at bayoucables, looking for a vent or a fan for the extra space in my rack now, it will end up weighing about 100lbs (still young and strong :))with everything racked. I got a chance to try everything that I bought before I left, and can't wait to get home to play through it since I own everything now, I think I'm going to get the Epifani UL-610 since it only weighs about 80lbs., and can take all I can throw at it. I'm very excited, totally better than Christmas.
