Keep the calenders open for a Lakland/Chicago GTG on October 23rd.

JP and Bo promise some GREAT entertainment and fun "stuff".

They also promise some "new" model releases and other announcements!

The LOG (Lakland Owners Group) will be providing snacks and soda.

For those of you who have attended Lakland GTGs before, you know how much fun they can be and you NEVER know who might show up!

More information on the GTG straight from John Pirruccello, head of Lakland:

The GTG will be from approximately 1-6 at Lakland on Saturday, Oct. 23. The address is 2044 N. Dominick St, Chicago. If you haven't been before, it's on the Near North side by the intersection of Clybourn and Southport, but it can be a little tricky to find. I'll put up some directions later.

There will be a clinic by Frank Russell, a monster local bassist. Check out his bio and clips here. Link Removed

Beside the Lakland shop, where folks can set up their instruments and such, Hanson--where the in-house Lakland pickups are made, as well as Hanson Guitars--will be open. Also, Carl Pedigo's shop (he's the former head of Lakland's shop, now an independent luthier who also does work for Lakland) will be open, and I expect Carl will be on hand to do expert setups for a fee. These places are all on the same floor of the building.

Refreshments will be provided as well.

I don't know if it'll happen this time, but it's worth mentioning that the Buddha himself, Bill Dickens, has appeared at the last two Lakland GTGs with a bass and melted faces off in a side room.:D
