This is the thread for discussion of Genz-Benz's Shuttle series of bass heads/cabinets, debuted at the 2008 Winter NAMM Show.

It's probably just the angles from which the pictures were taken, and different size cabinets they're on. IIRC in the G-B Rumors thread, they'll be interchangeable.

One is 300 watts and FET pre. The 6.0 is 600 watts and tube pre. THe 6.0 has to be bigger.

Mike is that 600w intgo 4 ohms.. does it do 2 ohms.. I need to get one of these for my small gigs... if ats anywhere near as lous as the older gbe600 it has to be slammin.. I have the gbe1200 like you and love it.. after hearing mine my buddy bought an older 600 and LOVES that thing....
so if this is anywhere near as close im getting one...

The 6.0 is 600 watts at 4 ohms. No 2 ohm option. 3.5 lbs. Hasbeen said that they were getting output at approximately the level of the GBE 750, which is 625 watts. So yeah, this is one serious mother.

600 watts into 4 ohms. No 2ohm on either

D'oh! I totally looked over that! I was thinking along the lines of the 3.0 combos using smaller speakers, therefore smaller cabs. Just cramming that extra Gain knob in there pushes the width, let alone establishing a tube section.

Correct, they are indeed different sizes to accomodate the additional features. Would have been nice from a manufacturing standpoint to use the same sized chassis but that would have made the 3.0 bigger.

But really, how much bigger? One knob wider for the 3.0 really isn't that much given the already-small form factor of the 6.0. Is the 6.0 taller and/or deeper as well?

Also, Roger- is the Shuttle 6.0 smaller than the Neo-Pak? I seem to remember you saying that it is, and it looks to be.

Will there be a gig bag for the Shuttle heads like there was for the Neo-Pak?

(You can feel the excitement building around here.. )

much, much smaller. The 6.0 is only 3.75 pounds ...the NeoPak is 8 lbs.

Dimensions are MUCH smaller too. Yes...padded gig bag is available.

I'm starting to lose the will to resist. The 6.0 sounds fabulous. 3.75 pounds, smaller dimensions, a gig bag! It's SEXY looking.

And it still has the nice metal knobs and the knob spacing! Wow. Agedhorse and Genzler, and the other Genz guys who contributed to this design, are geniuses.

The only thing is it doesn't do 2 ohms, which, again, for many of us, is not a complete deal-breaker.

I think I want one. :bassist:

Roger, do you think that Genz will, at some point, retrofit the 6.0s for 2 ohms, like you did for the Neo-Paks when they were 4 ohm minimum?

And what ARE the dimensions of the 3.0 and 6.0?

It's time, NAMM's here, spill ALL the beans.. :)
