At the prompting of savit260 in this thread, I'm starting the TB Hollowbody Bass Club and proclaiming myself President and member #1 :D.

So far the members are:

#1 - circuitspore [myself]
#2 - savit260
#3 - GlennW
#4 - mr sprocket

So anyone with a hollowbody/semi-hollowbody/chambered bass, post here and include a picture or at least tell us what you play! I'll come through and assign member numbers every few posts.

Here are my two HBB's: 1969 Gibson EB-2 (in factory black finish) and 70's Yamaha SA-17

I like it so far. The neck really surprised me- it's nice and chunky. Feels great. It's 1.5" at the nut, but it stays almost the same width all the way down the neck. So it's kinda thin, but it has a fat profile- just the way I like it.

I'm waiting to get some flats on it before I make a final judgement on the tone, but with the rounds it gets a nice P-bass-through-Ampeg kind of tone. And that's through a Squier guitar amp.

Count me in, I bought myself one of those rondo ASB's for X-mass, shortscale but it's string through the body. And a very thick body, so It takes full scale strings, D'Addario chromes on mine, stock strings sucked, strung with flats it sounds great.

If you like or love Violin style semi-acoustic basses, then this is one you should check out if you ever happen upon one.

I have two of these. Both are 1966 Klira model 356 Twen Stars. Made in Bubenreuth, Germany. Sound or look familiar?
