Meanwhile in the Chinese gear forums, there is a thread about assembling a rig where all parts are made in one province. 
Actually California is one of the states where you can assemble a rig made entirely ithere
I went to the High Desert Luthiery show, Entire guitar and amps -- yes bass amps and pedals are made in New Mexico. I'll have to pull the flyer but the nearest pedal maker is in Rio Rancho 4 miles from me and about a mile or so, someone is building basses and I think the nearest amp guy is about 4 miles. Yeah not class D but tube amps. They make cabinets too. No strings.
Our famous and probably longest boutique bass guy is Sukop from Red River NM but there are a few in ABQ. If I am in the market, I'll have these guys make me one. Unga guitars even winds his own pickups and he makes pedals and cases -
