*****All the details so far*****

Sunday May 20th @ 2 PM. Toms River.

****Updated Address****

Ridgeway Firehouse
2848 Ridgeway Rd (Route 571)
Manchester, NJ 08759

***Updated carpool****

I'm in South Jersey and have an SUV that can fit 5 people and some gear. I have to work in the morning/afternoon, but I work right near the Turnpike and it's cool to park in my lot.

Hey all. I'll start by saying that I do not have the space to accomodate everyone, but I'd be willing to chip in for a place to rent.

I've met 3 or 4 tbers in person and they've all been extremely cool. I'd really like to just hang out, maybe set up a few rigs and try out a few different basses.

So, does anyone know a good place?

I'm in the same boat, not enough room to host at my house but I'd be up for renting a location. There are a lot of guys in the central/south Jersey area that are TB members that generally don't want to make the trek to the NYC GTG in the Fall.

Let's see what the interest is, I'm up for searching out a central location ......

no room myself, but would love a close GTG. I have a nice firehouse down the road... maybe I'll see what the rental on it is for an afternoon.

It's on Commonwealth Blvd in 08757 (Toms River mailing address but in Manchester)... easy access from Route 70 and 37.

Maybe we could shoot for a May/June date?

here is the address:

Manchester Volunteer Fire Co
545 Commonwealth Blvd
Toms River, NJ 08757

I'm calling them now for pricing

I'm in south jersey. give me a headcount of sorts, I may be able to host, and I have access to a fire hall right down the road for cheap, maybe like 50 to throw at the firehouse as a thank you. whatever happens, someone please keep me in the loop, been looking forward to meetin some of ya....

I can do $50 to cover it. Hopefully, we can get a few more people interested.

Well, it looks good on paper.

There's a VFW hall in my 'hood that rents & I know the people there. There was a few bands the other night that played & it can hold a pretty big amount of people. If it matters, I can get a price figure for a Sat afternoon. I'm in the Monroe/Oldbridge area(not far from NYC also), let me know what pans out...

cheers,
~S~

Nick, I'm in! Let me know if you need some help finding a place. Are there any practice rooms/studio's over by you. That would be ideal, most places only charge 15-20 an hour. If not, I've got a place here in NE philadelphia, right off of I95 Cottman ave exit that has spaces for $15hr.

Alright --- Now we have a party brewing. I think May sounds good. It will give some time to get more people and to find a place. The only pressing date that I can't do, so far, is the 26th.

Looks like alot of people have a few places in mind. A VFW might be the best route. James, how far is Toms River from Philly? I think it's about an hour from me.

So, what'd'ya think guys? Toms River?

Is that too far for you PointBass? -- It wouldn't be a party without you there. I love reading your insight.

David, congrats on the rugrat. LOL. Me and my wife are expecting in September. We are going to find out the sex in two weeks. When I first saw the heartbeat, I teared up. What an exciting time!

No, that's only 15 miles from my house, so it's definitely close for me. I took a minute to check out some other distances to Manchester (Toms River) .... basically about an hour's drive throughout most of central/south Jersey below I-195 and a bit over an hour from some of the northern points.

52 miles from Philly Center City
58 miles from Atlantic City
53 miles from East Brunswick
69 miles from Newark
48 miles from Princeton
64 miles from Glassboro

The only issue I see with the Manchester location is that mass transit to that area is horrible, so TBers with no car access might have a problem (am I right about the mass transit, James? - you know the area much better than I do). Of course, car pooling is always cool ....

FWIW, the 26th is also Memorial Day weekend, so that date would probably be rough for most of us .... it's also my 25th wedding anniversary and I'd like to get to my 26th anniversary without seeing the inside of a courtroom where I'd be listed as "Defendent"

..... "really, Hon, I know it's our 25th anniversary but I have to go to this TalkBass GTG" .... yeah, right :help:
