MXR M80....Hz?

hi this i my first post.... :hiding:

anyways, i was wondering if anyone knew the Hz of the EQ knobs on the M80? The manual gives no info on this subject, which is rather disappointing. Thanks for all your help.

I don't know the actual fequencies, but it is about the only pedal of it's type with any sort of mid control. I get a nice tone and distortion when I use it, which isn't very often.

i do not use the dirt side because it is not my thing (Green Big Muff sounds quite nice :smug:

). i use it mostly just for the EQ side of it, and it is always on. for me i use the color switch on then i boost the mids and i get a great tone. I decided to reEQ my amp, and m80 today and just want to know which frequencies the knobs were centered around.

It doesnt mean much to me but Bass Player in their review has the following specs
Bass +-18 dB @ 60 Hz, shelving
Mid +-10 dB @ 850 Hz
Treble +-12 dB @ 4 Hz, shelving

I just checked it with a frequency analyzer in SONAR and that's exactly what I found.

Cakewalk Sonar recording software. I have a plug-in that runs the track through a frequency analyzer, so I just played the bass while turning the eq knobs and noticed how the eq curve changed.

The "nice one" might be up for debate, but yes, it is scooped mids/boosted lows and highs. I'm not sure what the actual frequencies are for that, though.

Hey, FOH. Could you test the "Color" EQ curve to determine how it affects the different frequencies? Since, the EQ knobs are active aswell it could help us fine tune the curve better. Thanks.

I am an idiot when it comes to recording soft ware so maybe everyone knows you can do that analysis. If not I commend you for figuring that out.

Don't you mean treble 4 khz? 4 hz is a lower frequency then the bass....lol

I've also been wondering what the "Color" switch does. Its sort of funny because I use the color switch and then boost the mids quite a bit. Curious as to what this is actually doing.

my M80 is still very new and there is much I can still learn about it as the manual doesn't explain much.
