So I've been talking with Mario at Robot Factory about his Meatball clone and decided to order one. He said it should only take him about two weeks to have it in my hot little hands. I ordered it with no paint or labels so I can make it look like what ever I want.
This is what he said would be different from the original unit:
"The one I made for myself I left the high pass option off, and the only extra jacks (besides in and out) are the effect loop send and return. The original had a CV input and if I recall, an envelope send. Otherwise it is pretty much the same. (It comes with a clean blend stock)."
I'll post a review when I get it, if anybody in the Seattle area has recording gear and is interested in helping me make clips that would be sweet.
Clips
1. Each link has a clean track for a second before I click on the pedal
2. then a finger style playing
3. then a slap style
4. then with a pick
5. then with the B:assmaster and POG in front of the the filter.
The end of the Mu-tron track me playing through all three filters at once.
OK so here's the new version of the Meat Wad
I worked out how I wanted it to sound at home with an active Musicman but then when I got to where I practice I used a G & L L2000 BABE LE in passive/single coil mode. There is a lot more sounds in this little box you can go more subtle or totally crazy. The reason I mention doing the setup on one bass and recording with another because the signal you put into this thing changes how it reacts so it's not exactly the way I usually like it set up but I didn't have time to readjust the sound once recording.
1. Theres a short clean section first
2. then fingerstyle through the meat
3. then slap through the meat
4. then the meat through HBE Psilocybe
5. then micro pog through meat
6. then micro pog though assmaster through meat
I also decided to record some clips of the Psilocybe
1. clean part first
2. fingerstyle through HBE
3. Micro pog though HBE
4. micro pog though HBE through HBE
5. Micro pog through HBE
