Is the Meatball clone the DualEnvelopeFilter on his site or something not listed?

It's less than half the price of the original though (even on eBay) so what can you do?

I totally agree. My point more was that the meatball isn't really that complex a circuit - it's mostly one PCB, with a tiny little bit of off-board wiring, so it really shouldn't take someone masses of time to put together.

That's it really. I hope it sounds good - the Meatball is an excellent pedal.

Ah, I see. I agree that the circuitry can't be so complex or rare that it costs more than an entire budget computer costs nowadays

Been swapping some e-mails, this is the most recent:

The one I built for myself just included the effect loop. I am building one this week with the external trigger, and I could include the expression easily enough. It comes down to the fact that I am using a MUCH smaller box and don't have room for it all. I have never played a real meatball. That's why I built the clone. On my own I left off the HP option, but have included it for one I am building for someone else................

All that being said, I do not use my meatball. I like the dual envelope filter that I designed a lot better. It has a few less options in the sweep side, but more control over the filter side (two filters are swept at once) and it goes deeper (resonance) and longer (decay) than the meatball..................

Meatball it currently $310 shipped and insured,
Dual Envelope is $260 shipped and insured, and an extra $50 will get you a "clean blend" added.

If you are one of the basstalk fellows, I would like you to know that I will add an active buffered clean blend to anything I make for $50 dollars. (as you know this is good news for the bass player........) I have done TONS of clean blend big muffs for bass players........

with people getting 'raw' pedal from manufacturer (raw means paint / unpainted and unlabeled) .. just wondering what did you end up doing for the labeling?

using a sharpie? or there's a nicer small decals for it?

You could use water-slide decals, a sharpie, bubble gum. Hell you could break down the box and paint it. Which is something tired to do when I got theLink Removed. Link Removed.

actually i am getting a brand new custom looper with my pick of paint and finish etc just that i need some pre-made decals that probably say .. mute, Loop A, Loop B. .. couple of Send/Receive thingy ..

As far as the finish for the box goes I was going to try and come up with something funny, cool or stupid like maybe a picture of meatballs with hand painted control markers.
I must be the other talkbass fella he is talking about although he said he did make another sale from somebody here.
He answers email fast and seems pretty cool so far so if this works out I maybe using him for other stuff too.

I've seen it before, but never commented so I'll do it now: Great job on the revision of the Pitch Pirate. Yours looks great. The original looks like someone decorated dog poop by squirting mustard and ketchup at it.

You know I never asked. It's smaller than the original but I'm not sure how much smaller.
