I did a search, and just have not seen much mentioned about vibrato. I suppose its more or less something that one just does. But, I am in the habit of not automatically using vibrato and I need to get out of that habit.
I am looking for some ideas, exercises, etc. about playing good vibrato and incorporating it naturally in my playing.
The only exercise I do is to set the metronome at 60, for example, start with 2 vibrato motions. and then increase the beats per metronome click. But, that's only a mechnical exercise to get started. I then take various pieces, and focus on vibrato, varying the speed depending on the piece.
Does anyone do anything else? Is there anything more to this? Are there any specific exercises in any method books?
