Depending on what emulator you are using, you might be able to disable some of the tracks, so if you just want to hear the drums and bass, you can disable all the other ones.

Most of the time NES music is nice and clear but sometimes when there are lots of instruments harmonizing it is hard to figure out what's going on, and especially which "instrument" is playing which notes.

I don't have that game, but given its popularity you might be able to find "save states" on the internet, which are just saved files at given points in the game.

I never played it extensively but I always thought the music from the first few levels would repeat itself throughout the game ....


As you can tell, I LOVE video game music and playing video game music, especially the NES/Sega Genesis era stuff.

There's actually lots of sites on the web with video game midis, a lot of which are somewhat accurate (depends on how complicated the song). I would say start there since it's easier to go back and forth on an actual track rather than go through the game.

Also the music has been compiled onto a CD. If you could get a hold of it somehow then that would help.
