What happened to the fun in TalkBass?

No Flaming, Serious discussion.

I was talking to multiple users and we have noticed there is a ton arrogance of TalkBass and just a bunch of garbage posts and it hasn't been as much fun to post here and read the posts (excluding username n/a).

I am not trying to a start a thread to attack the forums in any way because it can be a valuable tool, I know the mods are getting fed up with crap posts.

Did the arrogant people on here chase away the casual posters, or did everyone that was interesting get banned (please do not mention those that have passed).

I am just curious if anyone else has noticed this trend and feels the same way about a site I used to spend a heck of alot time on.

I took a week off from posting and came back thinking it would renew my spirit but it seems like it has gotten worse with the arrogance and after getting attacked and basically called an idiot in a post in so many words. So what happened to the fun on here?

Everything is mostly opinions on here, so that's what I am asking for. How would you make TalkBass more fun, again?

I think this has something to do with it. I don't disagree with the moderators banning them, but a lot of the people who had some of the more interesting posts here have been banned... I guess permanently.

How to make talkbass more fun?

Create a "banned users" forum that you can only post in while you are banned and has no moderation. The forum can be viewed by supporting members only (like the lobby) and is sort of like a sin bin. Supporting members can watch the banned users talk about whatever they like (probably a lot of whining) and the banned users can talk to each other about it, but can't interact with the non-banned users. I think that would be pretty amusing.

the downfall probably slowly started when i started posting.

but i will fault some other things... let me name a few talkbassisms here.

"I think that this is crap BLAH BLAH BLAH"
"WELL IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT IT THEN DON'T POST IN THE THREAD!"


"I was wondering if i can get some information of avatar cabs and the pros and cons please"
"DO A SEARCH YOU FREAKIN NOOB"


Those two things i see almost in every thread and it kills me. People are just trying to fit in, have fun, and converse. They arent looking to get yelled at about their opinion or have the stuff they like dissed.

And an idea to probably get more supporting members. I would pay to see that ;)

Have a countdown before they can be reintegrated into "society". TalkBass OZ.
