Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler

Mkay - It's been out for a couple weeks, and I imagine SOMEone here has tried it out. For those of you who aren't aware of it, here's a link:

Thoughts? Opinions? It sounds like a decent cure for those who don't want the amp modeling from the PODs but want the effects (and now you can put them in any order, use multiple distortions, etc., yay!), but there's a distinct possibility (IMO) that it won't work well with bass, especially in the synth tracking department.

Who's the guinea pig?!

I played one a few days back, hoping to play it again tomoro (tues) it sounds great through a 410 after a preamp (i think) didnt set it up you see.:bassist:

it handled the low ends well. and i prefered it so much in comparison to their rackmount style heads. you have more control over it plus it organises your pedals into one board, yes ther is stigma over seperate pedals vs all-in-ones and the possiblity of it failing and you F****D but for the price and the output i got, well worth it...75 boxes in one? /bow and besides, what muppet dosnt have backups? :P

think i may buy one myself :ninja:

I think the user interface and flexibility is just about perfect. I'd say it's the box to consider if you don't care about amp modeling.

I don't think they've been widely available for very long. Most on-line shops are just starting to get them.

Once I move some gear, I'll be putting in my order.

Whoa, after watching that last video, I feel like a moron - I thought that the bottom two rows were only for the looping. I didn't realize that they're part of the "scene" and that you can switch around to them on the fly. Man, that makes this little (big) box MUCH more enticing to me...

I ordered mine yesterday and should be here tomorrow.

I know when I use it with guitar it'll be great. I like the Line 6 effects and it looks like they really worked out the interface.

I am curious how well these effects will work with bass. Do the lower frequencies mess up the effects or does the M13 handle it well?

I'd be great if there was some way to only send the highs to the unit and have the lows bypass it (without going thru the hassle of an external crossover).

One thing I'm thinking is to use the M13 in a parallel effects loop with the blend on 50%. This way, even though the entire frequency spectrum is going thru the effects, 50% of my signal will still be clean, unaffected tone.

OMG!!! i played it twice since the original...im addicted, ashdown gear with the M13... heaven, its so versatile. 75 stompboxes...thats incredible, all sound like the boss pedals and so on i tried in the shop, everytime i go in i play and they let me :P i hear you can alter the settings online like most PODs but i dont know...

you got the money? get it. wont regret it, fun...idiot proof...and highly resourceful.
if you want the pre-sets of the preamp-style line6 bass xt type thing, i played through them both at the music shop. the stompboxes are easier to use but the other has amp modules, so you can more or less cover any amp style you want :)
get it, dont regret it.

Altering the sounds online is just partly true. You can save or upload complete scenes or all twelve secenes at once. Of course this allows you to just have one fx active on ascene and save that to check it with someone else.

What I mean to say is that it doesn't work like the POD's on customtone and there no editor. In general you don't need one since it's all done on the M13.

Hope it clarifies
