Curbow Club?

Sign me up! I've owned quite a few, and still have the custom semi-hollow singlecut 6 that was one of the last instruments Greg finished, and the Jazz 5 that Doug Somervell built for me.

Would love to have my old solid rosewood XT33 fretless 5 back, too...

Just found this thread. Love those Curbow's.

I went to Greg's funeral and what a sad day that was. It has taken me some time to adjust to the idea that he is no longer on the Planet.

Wish I still had my Curbow, Greg built me way back in 92. We had fallen on some hard times, my Wife and Kids nedded to eat. I can not believe I let it go.

Did not know Doug had went to Bartolini. Pat will chew his ear off. :D Love those Barts as well. What is Bill up to?

BTW Doug was a very small Chapter in the Curbow history.

Does anyone remember Buddy Thomas?

I knew nothing about Curbow basses until I started listening to Adam Nitti. When I first heard Adam's Balance and Evidence CD's I was absolutely blown away not only by the playing, but the tone of the bass as well! Here is Adam gettin' ridiculous on his Curbow 6:

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!

Here's a picture of the Curbow IEP 6 string I just pulled the trigger on today. This picture was taken by the other owner and when it gets here next week I'll take better pictures of it and post them. I'm not a 6 string player at all but I have been looking for a IEP 5'r for some time that wasn't priced out of my budget and they seem impossible to find, and when this one showed up I thought I'll just have to get used to 6 strings and worst case maybe someone that has more than one 5 string IEP may want to trade down the road.
But no matter what I'm very happy to have scored a sweet deal on this awesome bass! :hyper:

Yes, I've been eyeing that one, David. It's a great deal, but I'm saving towards a house can't afford any more new basses! BTW, I *just* missed picking up a Rockwood Petite 5 (passive, with J pickups) for $499 from Guitar Center a few months ago...
