Sadowsky April Fools joke

That's hysterical! Check out the accompanying text:

Sadowsky.com said:
Powered by three preamp tubes, the All Tube Onboard Preamp is a marvel of miniaturization. The sound is big, full, warm and round—everything you loved about our SA200 All Tube Bass Amp!

Like our SA200, tubes do have some trade offs. This new tube preamp will add approximately 5 pounds to the weight of the bass and you will experience some warming against your body from the resulting tube heat being diffused by the rear control plate. In testing, we found this warmth to be not at all unpleasant, and one tester actually used the word "sensual" to describe it.

I'll admit. I forgot the date. Was just at the Sadowsky website and saw this. I was thinking about the Taylor guitars with the CoolTube preamp and thought the front panel was just an artistic impression of the preamp. But then five pounds? What would anyone want that???

Doh!

I do remember seeing a company that had a blue Jazz bass that had a custom tube preamp built into it. It was only 1 12AX7, but it was behind a small grill, so you could see it when it was on. I don't imagine it was very practical, and I don't know how it sounded, but it looked awesome.

But I haven't seen it in years, I'm not sure what company it was.
