I am moving into a new hardshell case and would like Sadowsky owners to let me know if you prefer a logo on the case or not. I am torn between liking the logo and not wanting to advertise "there is an expensive bass in here--please steal me"!

So please let me have your opinion. Thanks.

I personally never use my Sadowsky case. It stays in a closet with all my other hardshell cases. I always bring my Sadowsky to my gigs in my gig bag. I do like the look of the logo on the case. It helps me keep track of which bass goes to which case. It also helps with resale value IMO. But I won't be heart broken if you do decide to not put the logo on the new case which by the way looks real nice. I wish it was around for me when I bought my Will Lee. But it will be there for my next Sadowksy. Good job Roger.

Not a Sadowsky owner, but I like the embroidered option on the inside.

Two Tobias cases which state Tobias on the outside does ring "steal me!" for those who know.

If it is doable, make it an option for the print on the outside.

Most thieves would not know the difference between a bass and a guitar. =) Relatively new bass players wouldn't know the value of any given boutique bass and I refuse to believe a "real musician" would steal someone else's instrument. In other words, a regular thief would have to know what a Sadowsky Bass is; which is in my opinion very unlikely. They would nick it just they would nick any other bass though, regardless of the logo on the case.

Only thieves that would steal the bass for it's being a Sadowsky are the ones who have an elaborate plan and a possible organized crime connection :D

Personally, I'd be very concerned about heightening the 'steal me first' advertisement on the case. Embossing would help, but 'to me' it does seem to be more of a false penis enlargement device when you bring it in the room than anything.

Live I use a Double Gig-bag so my two basses take up less space in transit and it's easier to make sure I get both in one trip hauling in or out. At least this way it's easier for someone to steal both basses in one fell swoop I guess. :-/


Edit: or possibly a engraved or embossed metal badge on one side of the other of the handle on the narrow side of the case. More elegant.

I wouldn't mind the logo on the outside. I personally don't feel a lack of logo will stop someone from stealing your bass. They are going to steal it regardless and they probably already know you play a Sadowsky anyway. And if you leave your Sadowsky unattended you deserve to get it stolen. IMO.

Can you give customers an option to install the logo themselves if they want it?
