New toy!

My new toy was waiting for me when I got home from work tonight (well, technically last night now). It's a Laguna LB524, found it on Guitar Center's 'used gear' website for $229. It needs some adjusting, the action is WAY too low...but even with that, the thing just plays and sounds like a dream!

I first saw it at my local GC a few months ago; fell in love with it, but couldn't swing it, esp. with the $599 tag (on sale). So, after talking this bass up to a friend for the past couple of months, went back to see if it was still there...it wasn't. Did some digging online and found out it was discontinued, so nobody was selling them new...but found a couple listed on GC's used site (one for 399, and this one), so I jumped all over it.

This is all I've found for sound bites so far -- once mine is set up, maybe I'll get some video of someone who can actually play...lol.

I'd imagine not -- I only first saw one at GC a few months ago. I think they were around for less than a year, I'm sure.

Seen this thread the other day, And Thought pretty cool bass so I went shopping. Found one in Michigan at GC for 199.00 so it will be here next week.Like I really need it ,but maybe I'll give it to my grandson in few years.

Damn, that's awesome! It's a wonderful bass though, especially for the price. I think retail for it brand new (when it first came out, and based on my recent research) was up in the $7-800 range....
