Effects Forum Noise Compilation

Ladies and Jellyspoons, the effects forumites humbly present to you the first ever noise compilation entitled Sine Nomine:

It's a free download of approximately 80mb. All of the tracks, artwork, and engineering were done by TalkBass members.

Let us know what you think.:bassist:

This is some pretty rad stuff dudes. I dig the variety too, all of it is weird but it isn't like listening to 2 hours of feedback (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Ermmm that was bad arse. Everyone do yourself a favor and make sure to listen to Intumescence with headphones on. I almost lost my equilibrium on that, nice use of stereo, bigchief:D. Thanks Pickles and thanks everyone for putting together a fine product. I eagerly await a second.

Can't play that file format.:hmm:

Aw crap. Señor Pickles, send me the wav files and I'll put wav and mp3 versions up.

EDIT: When I was a Windowser I think Winamp played m4a files just fine. I think.

I found several players and/or converters that would deal with m4as, but nothing that I have any actual use for beyond listening to this compilation. I settled on Foobar, which was the least bloated, simplest player I could find with minimal effort. It works fine and I've had a quick listen now -- nice work all!

I won't feel hurt if you guys want to just leave things as they are, but wav files would be my strong preference. ;)

Thanks. Alesis Ampliton is what I used for the stereo panning, it is a fantastic unit.

Over all very clear, there are few with slight volume differences but they are very small, I don't hear a lot of artifacts either which is important. A few of them [like mine] really need a sub to get full effect what what is going on, so you can get a real pounding experience.

Ah, that's what I was wondering as I didn't mix with a sub.
There were some issues with original tracks being clipped, but that was beyond my ability to control or correct (he said humbly). Glad it is not interfering with the production as a whole.

Now, to contact Cakewalk and ask why the hell there isn't an mp3 encoder included with SONAR 8.5 Pro.:scowl:

+1.

By the way, I'd like to say that you and I make a wonderful, cross-coastal, independent-of-each-other noise duo. :p
