Sweet bass. Especially nice with the 'correct' bridge. I do not care for the Badass bridges at all on these basses. They may sound great and work great, but BA5 bridges look wrong on that bass. I'm with ya Vic.

I'm reposting my question since the last thread was closed. Vic - thanks for your thoughtful response - I was aware of that, but wasn't thinking about it yet. I'm glad you mentioned it!
So, I'm thinking of ordering some custom VF5's and I wanted to get my fellow Club members' input.
#1) VF5 in P/J configuration - this would likely feature a Nordstrand P pickup, and "single coil" at the bridge. I'm thinking ash/maple.
#2) VD5 with MM/J configuration - a music man style humbucker in the bridge, "single coil" in the neck. Ash/maple.
What do you guys think? And what colors should I order first? As observed, the single coils would need to be hum canceling...

Hey, that one looks familiar! Is that the bass I reviewed in Guitar World's Bass Guitar Magazine?
I'm pretty sure it is. I really don't go for the coffee table look but this bass plays and sounds so good I'm getting over it!
I think I may have even played that one myself... trying to remember, but is it also on the lighter side for a BN5? If this is the bass I played at Tom's, I can tell you a funny story about it.
