Wow, these look like what every sealed cab guy has been asking for! If I am ever using a big rig again, I will have LDS build me a pair of sealed, vertically aligned 4x10 cabs to use with my vintage svt. I probably cross fire them. I may get a few of these to stick in my old 8x10 anyway. Cool.

Well, that driver does not physically look like the one from the SVT-210AV, and the specs are a bit different. The B810 looks a bit more beefy. It has a 30 oz. mag (versus 20 in the SVT-210AV), and 2" voice coil (versus 1.5"). Power handling is also a bit higher (150 vs. 100 watts, program).

It does look like a very nice driver, for sure. If you have specific questions about the B810, I would think that Anthony Lucas (at Eminence) would be a good guy to contact.

Has anybody heard these yet? I just put some Emi BP102s in a 4X10 cab and though they have nice bottom, as others have stated the mid highs and highs are like....not there.... looking at the curve on the B810, it looks like it doesn't roll off til around 5k compared to the BP102's 2k....but I typically don't trust graphs, I trust my ears so was wondering if anybody has these yet, with any opinions. Thanks alot in advance!

From the specs and graph, which I do trust, these are the real deal. My ampeg 8x10 has 4 stock drivers and 4 mod 10's. It sounds really good but, If I actually used the cab to gig with, I would buy 8 of these drivers to drop in right now. Good power handling, great frequency response and yes, they will drop right into an ampeg 8x10 cab. Very cool.

I think that someone could be very happy if they had LDS build them a pair of vertically aligned, sealed 4x10 cabs. Then, cross-fire the pair for better performance. I would love to set my vintage svt on a pair of cabs like that, with the new drivers.

I just ordered four of these and a 5khz x-over filter for a horn. Im going to load them into an empty avatar 4x10, seal up the port and maybe even put more damping material in it. Im going to leave the horn in it with a 5khz high pass filter. That should give each woofer roughly 0.9 cubic feet which is right in the middle of the sealed cab requirements. Im hoping that it will sound really good. If so, I may have don at lds built me a custom cab or two with the drivers.

When I get the drivers, I will be sealing up the cabs vents with a towel but, I want to keep the cab sealed, what should I use? Expanding foam like people use around windows, or wood or..........

Lately I have confirmed what I have always thought. I prefer the sound of one type of driver at full range. It gives that top end a nice growl when you make a woofer produce high frequencies and I have always prefered sealed cabs. So, this could be a great cab for me. The horn would be there incase I ever wanted to slap and sometimes at home, I like extra highs as well. At gig volume, horns aren't usually needed and can cause extra noise. I'll keep you guys posted and welcome any advice.

I got 4 of the new b810 drivers today. I put them in an empty avatar cab and sealed the vent. There is definitely more top end in these than the last ampeg stock drivers. I compared them directly to 4 of the stock drivers that I have. There is no risk with buying these. They sound really good. That being said, I may prefer 4 of these with 4 of the jensen mod10 50 watts. The jensens have certain mids scooped out that make them sound brighter than they really are and when you combine that with 4 dull drivers with better low end like the old stock ampegs, it just plain works. But, I'll have to put the b810's into the ampeg cab to make a fair comparison. I'll keep you guys posted.

I have a SVT410HE 200w cab that I have been gigging with for years. Recently blew a driver and decided to just replace all of them with the B810's. I'm digging the sound. I gotta wait 2 more weeks to gig with them and it's killing me. If the damn thing wasn't so heavy, I'd be in heaven:D

this is indeed great news! now it makes me want to find an empty 810e and buy 8 of these and try them out. of course i won't because i'm cheap (plus i'm already getting two new cabs that i have to pay for), but it's good to know that eminence finally built a replacement speaker that sounds more like the old cts's than the blankety mud sound of the 86-032-01's they used to use. i'd like to think i had a little something to do with that ;)
