I was talking to Alvaro a while back about this and he mentioned neck relief and widening the E string part of the nut. How is all this done? And is there anything else involved in doing this that I should know? I will be doing this to my Epiphone Thunderbird (noob bass, I know). Is this too complicated for the standard person to do or not?
Another question: Had I of not found out that anything other than widening the E string part of the nut needed to be done, and I just slapped B, E, A, and D, strings on it as it is, what would have happened?
