Tamas Barabas is playing a very nice Jazz bass with a MM style pickup in between the Jazz pickups. Has anyone seen this configuration before?

I have this configuration on a heavily modded yamaha 5 string

the MM in series doesn't sound too far away from the jazz pups in parallel but when slapped the extra thickness shines through. When you blend all the pickups in equal measures it really beafs up the tone, makes the low B more solid and uniform and adds more consistency tot he high registers without them sounding thin like they can on some jazz bass pickup arrangements.

but mine doesn't look anywhere as nicely put together and finished as that beauty! let's not even get into how well it's played eh :(

Cool BarkerBass, mine is on orig JJ and MM positions!
...and very similar sounds too! :cool:
