I'm confused as which way one should go at this. I mean there are so many options.

What type of tub will be the best to cut through a loud metal band?

Will hello kitty stickers help with the sound at all?

If I where a mask will my "metalness" be even more extreme?

Should I use weedwacker line or boat steering cable?

Should the neck/stick be fixed or not?

If one is lost in the backwoods should one wear a chastity belt?

But who makes the most brutal pickup for metal washtub bass? Don't mikes feedback too much or should you work that for your washtub feedback solo?

Anybody with any metal cred at all knows that bridge cable is the only way to go for true metal wash-tub bass!

16GA galvanized of course. Dichromate looks pretty snazzy.

Go for looks, you can't hear the bass in metal anyway (or is it that you can't hear the metal...)

The tub is a great spot to hide pyrotechnics or a fog machine (or both!), cut vents in the sides and blast away!

But the soap scum, particularly if from voodoo queen with washing business on the side, is what gives the bass major mojo. Fender pro shop scum just does not work as well. Steer clear of so called "scum in a bottle" as it will trash the bass.

I much prefer stainless for a more modern tone. I guess galvanized is OK if you're more into the vintage washtub sound.

Ya Know what??? I don't appreciate your sarcasm!!! We all know that its pretty freakin simple!!! Washtubs are for Jug bands, NOT METAL!! Just ask Emmett Otter,, one of those crazy critters had some sort of washtub instrument. And you only need to look at the same movie if you need a model for a metal band. The Riverbottom Nightmare band had it all!!

But seriously I will give you a diagram.

Ibanez bass (preferably tuned flat and lower then any other metal band in history!!!) > Sansamp preamp>Ampeg SVT>Ampeg 8x10

Do that and the rest should fall into place

do the adjustable - I always prefer the two-note option over the one-note or I just feel cheated. and it'll be like shifting gears when your metal band goes for that one big chord change in the middle of the song

Yeah.

For string, 3/32" or 1/8" aircraft cable (stainless steel) and chain mail gloves for playing. That'll cut through the mix. If you're tuning down, use the 1/8" cable.
